Myett’s rich history begins with the Rhymer family’s deep roots in Cane Garden Bay as Kareem and Sandman grew up in the village. Kareem eventually moved to San Francisco to attend school and became a contractor and electrician. Meanwhile, Sandman ventured away to gain experience in the culinary world, working at Caneel Bay in St. John. When they both returned to the Virgin Islands in the early 1990s, they had a clear goal in mind: to transform a piece of family land into a restaurant. As the landowner of Myett’s, Kareem took on the task of physically building the restaurant while Sandman brought his own culinary expertise to the venture. Their multicultural influences and dedication to hospitality have shaped Myett’s into a warm and inviting space where locals and tourists alike feel at home. From the inception, Myett’s has prided itself on its friendly service and delicious food, quickly garnering a loyal following. Over the years, the restaurant has expanded its offerings and now the recent partnership with Chef Imran Ashton marks an exciting new chapter for Myett’s.
With over 25 years of experience in the culinary field, Chef Imran is known for his leadership in prestigious restaurants across the Caribbean and beyond, including Plumrose Restaurant & Catering and The Body Holiday Spa and Resort in St. Lucia, as well as River Cafe in London. Chef Imran’s philosophy centers around fresh, creative, and flavourful dishes, and he has now brought his innovative approach to Myett’s. The new menus feature a variety of options, including a Weekender’s Brunch, Lunch, Pizza, Sunset Tapas & Bar Bites, and Dinner—all designed to cater to diverse palates.
