The Commission was established in 1992 to regulate film production activity in the Territory, promote the Virgin Islands as a premier film production location and grow and develop the local production scene.  The Commission’s mission is to expose, educate and prepare the local markets to grow and develop to international standards, and to also develop various initiatives to increase and improve business and performance to help grow the territory’s filmmaking infrastructure.The BVI Film Commission also acts as a liaison between film/photography producers and all relevant Government agencies, including the Customs, Labour and Immigration Departments, National Parks Trust, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and can connect you with local, professional industry partners.
